Strawberry Mojito Mocktail

You know what I’m really getting into? Mocktails. I’m not drinking them instead of regular cocktails (like that would ever happen!) but I’m drinking them throughout the day as a way of livening up the ordinary still water that I usually drink. And whilst I’d always opt for the alcoholic version if it’s a weekend, a non alcoholic strawberry mojito is awesome to sip at my desk during the working week.

With summer bringing crazy high temperatures (although thankfully very few forest fires this year compared to previous years) I’m doing my absolute best to stay hydrated and drink as much water as possible. And when I’m drinking as much of the stuff as I am, drinking ordinary still water gets old fast. So I started off experimenting with agua fresca recipes and quickly jumped on the mocktail recipes.

There’s something so perfect about mocktails for summer. Sitting on the balcony, soaking up the sun and sipping this delicious strawberry mojito mocktail is a great way to relax and refresh before I run back to my desk in five minutes’ time and start banging away at the keyboard again.

In fact, I’ve been loving non alcoholic mojito cocktails for so long that I realise it’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted a real cocktail recipe. But don’t worry – I’ve got an incredible summer cocktail recipe planned to share with you next Friday. The only thing is that I’m a bit stuck for time and I’ll have to prepare it and photo it on our camping trip this weekend. I have absolutely no idea how it’s going to turn out! But it’s so awesome that I’m going to post it anyway. Stay tuned!

But back to this recipe. Did you know that soda water is just as good for you as still water? Well, it is as long as the ingredients list is just water and carbon dioxide. I know – that’s what makes the water fizzy, the addition of carbon dioxide. Sounds insane and dangerous, right? I didn’t believe My Official Treat Taster when he first told me, but Google backed him up. And Google is always right.

Strawberry Mojito Mocktail
Servings: 1 serving
Ingredients
  • 3 strawberries
  • 10 leaves fresh mint
  • 1/2 lime sliced
  • 1 cup soda water
  • optional: ice
Instructions
  1. Place the strawberries, mint leaves and lime slices into the bottom of a glass and mash with a spoon to release the flavours.
  2. Add in the ice, if you're using it, then pour over the soda water.
  3. If you're serving this to guests and want it to look pretty, don't stir before serving.
