Spooky Halloween Cocktail Recipe: Black Widow

Let me introduce you to the the ultimate spooky Halloween cocktail recipe. This black widow cocktail is a spine-chilling combination of tart cranberry juice, sweet strawberry vodka, powerful white rum and zesty triple sec which is sure to leave you...well... a little worse for wear if you drink too many of them!

After taking a 3 (THREE!) month hiatus from blog posting, I'm back with a vengeance. I'm not sure where my passion and motivation went during summer, but they both came roaring back as soon as pumpkin spice, woolly jumpers and Halloween recipes started spreading all over the internet. I live on an island with a subtropical climate which means my fall is hot, dry and sunny. The closest thing I get to experiencing fall is by browsing all the incredible fall recipes on Pinterest....then pretending it's actually cold, wet and windy so I can make all the recipes I madly pin day and night.

Instead of sharing a brand new post with you, I've decided to revamp my most popular fall recipe instead. This spooky Halloween cocktail tastes as great as it looks! And thanks to a brand new camera and much improved skills since I took the first set of photos 3 whole years ago (I'm not even going to embarrass myself and share them with you, they really are that bad) this cocktail actually does look as good as it tastes, too.

Do you have Halloween plans yet? I don't. I never seem to have any Halloween plans. Probably because I don't have any friends, so I don't get any party invites. And I hate horror films, so I can't do a spooky movie marathon. I guess I'll just sit around in one of my many Halloween outfits (why do I buy so many Halloween costumes when I never have any Halloween events to go to?!) on the night of October 31st, nibbling spooky food, sipping spooky cocktails and watching my boyfriend play the remastered version of Resident Evil on the PS4...which I can just about watch if I have my hands over my eyes so I can block my vision immediately if I sense a zombie nearby.

Sounds awesome! Not a fan of licorice, but I wonder if I could just make chocolate spider legs in the glass. Hmm.... Stopping by from Chef in Training Tuesday Talent Show.

I so don't want summer to be over. I have already seen Halloween and Christmas stuff in the stores. This looks like a fun way to celebrate the day with for sure.

    • Nicola

I feel the totally opposite way, Gloria - I can't wait for this boiling to summer to be over! But I know what you mean. Stores selling Christmas stuff in August is crazy! But before you know it, the festive season will be over and we'll be wishing it was back!
