Let me introduce you to the the ultimate spooky Halloween cocktail recipe. This black widow cocktail is a spine-chilling combination of tart cranberry juice, sweet strawberry vodka, powerful white rum and zesty triple sec which is sure to leave you…well… a little worse for wear if you drink too many of them!
Are you in full-blown Christmas mode yet? We certainly are in the Pink Recipe Box household! The decorations are up, the Christmas music is on, the Christmas films have been selected, the gingerbread men are in the oven and there’s a generous space cleared in the fridge for amazing Christmas cocktails like this Sparkling Christmas Cosmo!
We’ve got to that point in the festive season where every now and then I get a burst of Christmas butterflies in my stomach and run around like a little kid getting all excited because Christmas is coming! And that’s when I’m just sat at my desk working. When we’re wrapping presents, putting up the decorations or sipping on Christmas party cocktails, that exciting festive feeling is multiplied by a million.
So you know how last week I said you don’t have to make mulled wine with red wine, that you can also make it with rosé wine? Well – you can probably see this coming – but you can also make mulled white wine! Although the rich, full-bodied quality of red wine does make it more suitable for turning into a festive flavour-packed mulled wine, the added orange in this recipe really enhances the fruity flavour of the white wine, so the spices aren’t over-powering.
Mulled wine is one of my favourite Christmas drinks. Speciality hot chocolates are great, but they just can’t stand up to mulled wine, you know? Maybe it’s because I associate mulled wine with wandering around chilly Christmas markets, looking for odd little trinkets that I think are adorable but the people I’m going to give them to think are pointless, but mulled wine just feels incredibly festive whenever I pour it.
