Summer is definitely on its way and I couldn't go on for a minute longer without sharing one of my favorite summer recipes with you - frozen sangria.
I absolutely love sangria. In fact I even have a few recipes for it on the blog - Fall SangriaĀ and Sparkling Summer Sangria. I was enjoying another one of my favorite summer drinks last weekend - Lemon Vodka Slush - when the idea hit me: how amazing would a sangria slushie be?! I made it and it was every bit as fantastic as I thought it would be.
The only downside to this drink is how long it takes to make. Unless you coincidentally already have a freezer full of frozen sangria, then you're going to have to wait whilst the drink freezes before being able to enjoy it. What I'm trying to say is if you're planning a party or want to enjoy the drink on a sunny weekend, be sure to prep the frozen sangria at least 48 hours in advance.
š Recipe
Ingredients
- Sangria
- Lemonade
Instructions
- Whip up your favorite sangria recipe (or open up your favorite carton, I won't judge) and pour it into a large container. Place in the freezer for 24-48 hours, depending on the size, until fully frozen.
- When rock solid, use an ice cream scoop to fill your glass with the frozen nectar. Grab the lemonade and pour it over the slush until your glass is full.
- Grab a book, some sunglasses and enjoy your drink in the sun š
