Homemade Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ΒΌ cup white wine or chicken stock or water if you're not a fan of wine
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and toss in the onion and garlic. Cook for around 30 seconds or until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  • Sprinkle in the oregano, basil and paprika. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes until the onion has softened.
  • Pour in the white wine and leave for 3 minutes or so to reduce.
  • Stir in the tomato paste, water and white sugar. Leave for 10 minutes to thicken.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  • Store in the fridge in a jar or use straight away to make delicious homemade pizzas!
