Caramel Apple Oatmeal
A healthy, hearty cinnamon oatmeal topped with cinnamon-spiced apples and an enticingly sweet caramel sauce, this caramel apple oatmeal is perfect for warming you up on a chilly fall morning.

- 1 small apple
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar you can substitute a zero-calorie sweetener
- 1/2 cup skimmed milk you can substitute a vegan milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon divided into 2
- 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
Peel, core and halve the apple. Put 1 half to one side and chop the remaining half into into small chunks.
Place into a microwave-safe dish and toss with 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Cook in the microwave for 2 minutes until soft.
In a medium-size bowl, stir together the oats, sugar, milk, water and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Place in the microwave and cook for 1.5 minutes. Remove from the microwave, stir and cook for a further 1 minute.
Pile the apple chunks on top of the hot oatmeal and drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
