Healthy Chocolate Cake Waffles

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup oats
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  • Turn on your waffle maker and leave it to heat up.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, oats, cocoa powder, sugar and baking powder.
  • Crack in the egg and pour in the vegetable oil and milk.
  • Stir everything together until you've got a well-combined waffle batter.
  • Evenly pour the batter into the sections of your waffle maker and leave to cook for 5-6 minutes.
  • Serve the waffles immediately whilst hot with homemade strawberry chia seed jam or sliced bananas, Nutella and homemade peanut butter.

Notes

You can eat these waffles right away or leave them to cool before storing them in an air-tight container. To reheat, simply pop them in the microwave for 2 minutes.
