I've finally found a way of photographing a red cocktail without making it look fluorescent, artificial and just really, really weird. Photo it with a red Christmas wrapping paper backdrop! And don't forget to use real Christmas presents and photo props. Even if your boyfriend does freak out a bit when you take his Christmas presents out from under the tree, telling him you're just going to precariously balance cocktails on them for some photos
But I didn't spill a single drop - not that I would ever ever EVER spill a drop of a cocktail. Which you'd totally know if you knew anything about me. Whilst I love Christmas cookies, cupcakes and the like, what really gets me are Christmas cocktail recipes. Festive colours, sparkling effects and Christmassy flavours - if there ever was a time to enjoy a good drink, it's definitely Christmas.
Unlike many Christmas drink recipes which are based on entire bottles of wine or champagne, this recipe is just made by stirring a couple of spirits and mixers together in a glass, making it perfect for when you only need to make yourself one drink or a couple for you and a friend
I don't know about you, but if I have to open an entire bottle of sparkling wine or something else fizzy, it seems like a total waste to just leave it in the fridge to go flat. And drinking an entire bottle of sparkling wine on my own a couple of times each week is not something I want to get into the habit of doing!
What makes this drink festive? It's the combination if flavours. It's got cranberries (festive), orange (festive) and spirits (extra festive) in it, making it suitable for sipping on over the Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Year's Period. Can you tell I'll take any excuse to enjoy a cocktail?
What naughty treat do you enjoy indulging in during the holidays?
