Let the margarita recipes continue! Or the beergaritas. They're pretty much the same thing. Except they're not.Ā Margaritas are more concentrated and pack more of an alcoholic punch. Beergaritas, on the other hand, are more refreshing and less alcohol dense. Margaritas = downed at a bar after midnight. Beergaritas = sipped by the pool in the sun.
Don't you agree? After weeks of margarita testing - it takes a lot of attempts to develop the perfect strawberry margaritas, you know - the tequila is starting to wear me down! I never even knew there was such a thing as too many margaritas, but I guess there is. So this is why I switched from margaritas to beergaritas today. Instead of a hardcore alcohol-fuelled drink, I'm serving you a glass of sweet, fizzy and citrusy heaven, perfect to add to your army of summer cocktails.
You have a list of cocktail recipes for each season of the year, right? Or it that just me? We take drink recipes pretty seriously around here so the fact that this beergarita is getting added onto the summerĀ list is really saying something!
Ever since I first discovered them in abundance in my local fruit and veg shop several months ago, I've been head-over-heels in love with pink grapefruits...even if I thought they were blood oranges to begin with. From the gorgeous red colour of the centres to the sweet and zesty taste of the grapefruit juice - I love everything about these fruits! Which is why grapefruitĀ recipes are popping up more and more on the blog - Sweet Grapefruit Kiss Cocktail, anyone?
If you're not a fan of grapefruit (who doesn't like grapefruit?!) you can switch up the grapefruit juice for orange juice or lemon juice, but then you've got a whole different cocktail. Best stick to the pink grapefruit version and sip your beautiful peach-coloured cocktail out of a pink and white polka dot straw, right?
TGIF!

Oh I love pink grapefruits! They had them in the breakfast buffet at a hotel I stayed in last week and I was tempted to empty half the cut up wedges into my bowl!
Love that you made beergaritas! I'll give this a try tonight!

I love the idea of using beer for these cocktails, such a refreshing drink by the sounds of it
