I've started to notice something. You can tell how eager I am to drink a cocktail by how few photos there are of it in the blog post. The more photos I have to take and style = the longer it's going to be until I get to drink the cocktail. Therefore if I only take a couple of photos, I get to drink the cocktail soon. I never knew I could unconsciously reveal so much about myself in my photography!
But being so eager to drown this maragarita cocktail doesn't just mean that I love margaritas - which I totally do. It also means that this margarita recipe tastes ah-maz-ing! It's kind of like this Sweet Grapefruit Kiss Cocktail recipe, except it's got extra zing from the lime and a punch of underlying spicy heat from the tequila. Yes - it totally tastes as good as it sounds!
Apart from the Sweet Grapefruit Kiss Cocktail recipe, there wasn't much inspiration for this recipe. Apart from grapefruit and coconut taste good together. Which I think is an absolute truth, but don't quote me on it. I was planning on sharing a tequila sunrise cocktail recipe with you today - they used to be one of my all-time favourite cocktail recipes - but grapefruit and coconut win over orange juice and grenadine any day in my books.
We've got just over two weeks to go until Cinco de Mayo! So what are your plans? I'm actually going to be away on May 5th, so I'm not gonna be able to celebrate on the day. But I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze in a themed day when I get back, full of over-the-top Mexican deliciousness like 30-Minute Pork Fajitas, Chicken Fajita Pizza, Chicken Taco Chilli, Quick Mexican Chicken Bowls, Crunchy Baked Tilapia Tacos and Mexican Tilapia Bowls.
I probably won't be scoffing all of those dishes, but it's nice to have a choice, you know? So what are you up to on Cinco de Mayo? Throwing a party? Attending a party? Staying home and gorging on quesadillas? Tell me! So I can mentally tag along!
